As per the proposal, the 750mm diameter pipeline and the 600mm pipeline will be replaced with a single 1,646mm MS pipeline. The Curti plant will draw raw water from the river through this 2 km-long pipeline.
While the two water treatment plants are situated within the Opa water works complex, three plants are on Curti hill. The Opa waterworks complex, which originally had only 8 MLD plants, has been expanded four times. These plants together treat and supply 160 MLD of water to Tiswadi and Ponda talukas.
